PHOTOGRAPHY LESSONS
Image editing and photography lessons via Skype
Post-production
If you’re not getting the results you want when editing your photographs, whether landscapes or other genres, book an editing lesson, or a course with me.
It will be tailored to your level of experience and needs. We will work on your own images.
Subjects include, but are not limited to:
- general RAW development workflow
- exposure and tonal corrections
- white balance and colour corrections
- lens and geometric corrections
- noise reduction
- spot removal and other local edits
- B&W / monochrome conversion
Introduction to digital photography
If you’re a novice and would like to get off “auto” and in control of your camera, learn what all the different settings mean and do – consider booking a lesson.
We'll cover the following subjects:
- what is exposure, how aperture and shutter speed work together
- light metering
- ISO sensitivity and how it sets the stage for exposure
- how all the different shooting modes work
- what is white balance (WB)
- the histogram, how and why to use it
- what is focal length
- focusing and depth of field explained
Typically a session of 2h should be sufficient to cover these basics. It will be intense and rather fast-paced. And it will require you to do some “homework”, viz putting these newly learned concepts into practice and experimenting afterwards. But if you put your mind to it, you’ll be in control of your camera before you know it.
Any camera is good for the purpose of these introductory lessons, as long as it has manual settings.
Consultations for more advanced photographers
If you believe I could help you take your photography to the next level, but cannot attend a workshop in the field, consider a Skype session.
